Understanding Intragastric Balloon

An intragastric balloon is a soft silicone balloon placed in the stomach and filled with saline, so you feel full sooner and eat less. It is a non-surgical option for people who are overweight or have moderate obesity and want a kick-start to weight loss.

It is placed and removed endoscopically (through the mouth, no incisions) as a day-care procedure, and stays in for about 6 months. It works best combined with a supervised diet and lifestyle programme, which your team provides.
