Understanding RIRS

RIRS (Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery) treats kidney stones with a very fine flexible telescope passed up through the natural urinary passage to the kidney, where a laser breaks the stone into dust. There are no cuts.

It is well suited to stones up to about 2 cm, stones that failed shock-wave therapy, and patients on blood thinners. Ayushman Surgicare coordinates the scan, urologist, hospital and insurance.
