Understanding Spine Surgery

Spine surgery treats problems such as a slipped (herniated) disc, spinal canal narrowing (stenosis), or an unstable or slipped vertebra, when leg or arm pain, weakness or numbness has not responded to non-surgical care.

Wherever possible it is done with minimally invasive or microscope-assisted techniques — a microdiscectomy for a disc, decompression for stenosis, and fusion or disc replacement for instability. Ayushman Surgicare coordinates the MRI, spine surgeon, hospital and insurance.
