Understanding Shoulder Dislocation
A shoulder dislocation is when the ball of the upper arm comes fully out of its socket, usually from a fall or sporting impact. After the first dislocation, some people — especially younger, active ones — go on to dislocate repeatedly.
A first-time dislocation is reduced (put back) and rehabilitated. Recurrent instability is treated with arthroscopic stabilisation (Bankart repair) to re-attach the torn labrum and tighten the capsule.
Common Symptoms
If you have one or more of these, it's worth speaking to a specialist.
Our specialists use the latest minimally invasive techniques wherever possible — smaller incisions, less bleeding and a faster return to daily life.
Every patient has a full pre-surgical evaluation to decide the most effective approach, and a multidisciplinary team supports your health before, during and after the procedure.
