Understanding PRK Lasik

PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) is a surface laser vision correction that reshapes the cornea without creating a flap. The outer skin of the cornea is gently removed and regrows over a few days.

It is preferred for thinner corneas, certain corneal shapes, and people in contact sports or jobs where a corneal flap would be a risk. The visual result matches LASIK; the recovery is a little slower.
