Understanding Egg Freezing

Egg freezing (oocyte cryopreservation) collects and freezes eggs while they are younger and healthier, to be used later. It gives you the option of trying for a pregnancy with your own eggs at a time that suits you.

The process mirrors the first half of an IVF cycle — about two weeks of daily injections followed by a short egg-collection procedure under sedation. The eggs are frozen by vitrification and stored until you are ready.
